The Celts were a diverse and varied group of tribes that once occupied much of iron-age Europe. This Celtic Spire Helmet is named for the distinctive design that was used in many historical Celtic helms, featuring a tall cap with a rounded point. Celtic armor and equipment can be as diverse as their people were, given how wide-spread they were as a group, and the different styles of Celtic helmets reflect this. However, there are certain commonalities that are typically found within each. Like many other Celtic helmets, this helmet does feature the same tall point at the top of the helm and the same sloping sides, which are likely designed to help deflect blows from striking the head. This helm also features a slight, slanted back along the rim of the helm, as well as a pair of cheek guards, which hang down from the side of the helm. Each cheek guard features three circular, almost rivet-like designs, as well as a single matching design on the helmet just above. The helm also includes a padded arming cap, for easy wearing. Made from quality metal, the Celtic Spire Helmet is a simple yet effective reproduction of a helmet that likely would have been favored by Celtic warriors of both high and low station, if only for the personal protection that this helm would have offered on the battlefield.
